We are a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team with students from Dunlap Middle and High School. Our team was formed in 2022 as a FIRST Lego League (FLL) Challenge Team.
Our first year (2022-2023 – “Superpowered”) we learnt the basics of building a robot, how to innovate and create innovative solutions. We dominated the robot game but were unable to advance. We learnt about our shortcomings and worked on preparing better during our off-season.
In 2023-2024 “Masterpiece”, we performed better and won Engineering Excellence and Innovation Project Awards at the qualifiers & sectionals respectively and advanced to the State Championship. We had a great season and learnt a lot.
In 2024-2025 “Submerged”, we used our learnings from past two seasons, we prepared during off season with a goal to make it to world championship. We won the champions award at the qualifier & sectionals and champion finalist award at the IL State Championship. We advanced to the World Championship at Houston and performed very well. We won the Innovation Project Award Finalist at the World Championship.
Apart from participating in these events, we have worked on raising funds for Neurodivergent kids by organizing Lego alliance competition and GoFundMe campaign. We also mentored 5 rookie teams during the season. We received recognition from the Governor of the State and Proclamation from the Mayor of Peoria for our efforts during the season.
